Find the Least Common Denominator (LCD) of both fractions, convert each fraction to have that denominator, then add or subtract the numerators. Simplify the result.
Multiply the numerators together and the denominators together. Then simplify by dividing both by their Greatest Common Divisor (GCD).
Flip the second fraction (reciprocal) and multiply. "Keep, Change, Flip" — keep the first fraction, change ÷ to ×, flip the second.
Find the GCD of the numerator and denominator using the Euclidean algorithm, then divide both by it. The result is the fraction in lowest terms.
